Gimme Shelter!

Considering a new pet? Ever considered adopting a shelter pet? They make great ones....just ask me. I have one that lives with me and he's the greatest pet ever!!! In fact, he's not even a pet, he's my baby.

But you want a puppy to grow up with your children? They have those. Don't give me the excuse that you want a purebred...yep, they've got that covered too. So many pets these days are being abandoned by their owners, because they don't want them anymore, or they can't afford them. Take Ollie, my parents new rescue his previous owners just couldn't care for him any longer.....or Rosie, their other rescue, a puppy mill dog, unwanted. What about my Winston? Abandoned and tied up outside the shelter overnight. {We knew he had practice at that pitiful face before we got him!}

I received an email from the Humane Society of North America this morning. {No, they're not PETA....don't worry.} Right now there is a movement on the rise....adopting shelter animals. Please check out The Shelter Pet Project for more information and the cute campaign commercials. And while I'm on the subject....I might as well introduce you to Kelly. She's a wonderful soul that I've never met, but I have become involved in her pet rescue transportation system called Kelly's Pet Dog Rescue Transports. They take shelter pets from all over the country and transport them to foster homes and shelters that can't keep pets in them long enough because gosh darn it, those folks in those towns are smart and adopt! If you are unable to have a pet, this a great way to help out!

I can make a promise to you, there will be joy in your heart when you adopt a homeless pet. They will let you know everyday that in some little way what a difference you made in their life. Pledge to adopt your next pet.

Winston....he's the sweet boy.

Rosie...she's the Princess

Ollie B. Good Bad....he's not really, just mischievous!
