Happy 112th Birthday Kappa Delta!

Happy Founder's Day to my fellow Kappa Delta sisters out there reading! I am honored to have been a part of one of the top collegiate chapters, the Delta Gamma Chapter of Kappa Delta at Western Kentucky University! I am now a chapter advisor to the Birmingham-Southern College and a member of the top alumnae chapter in the United States!

As cheesy as it may sound, my tribe sorority was an instrumental part of becoming an adult. The values and lessons learned are literally indescribable and the friends I made are there for a lifetime. They saying, "Looking from the outside in, you can never understand it. Looking from inside out, you can never describe it" could not be a more fitting description.

Happy Birthday Kappa Delta and thank you for all the opportunities you have brought me over the past 8 years!

Ta Kala Diokomen...Let us strive for that which is honorable, beautiful and highest.

I thought you might be interested in a new Kappa Delta initiative, the Confidence Coalition.

Organized by Kappa Delta Sorority in the Spring of 2009, the Confidence Coalition mobilizes the many organizations, companies and individuals that promote self-esteem and confidence among girls and women. Together we are committed to reaching the women and girls in our nation with the message that they are good enough, that they can make their dreams a reality.

By banding together to launch a national media campaign, Web site and action projects, we are bringing awareness to the many issues that can affect the confidence of women and girls.

The Confidence Coalition is possible through the generous support of the Kappa Delta Foundation, the funding arm of Kappa Delta Sorority.

For more information, visit www.confidencecoalition.org or contact Heidi Roy at dircomm@kappadelta.org.
