With this ring...

This past weekend, we went with several other couples for a long weekend in Grayton Beach (I will post on that later!). The trip was much needed and much enjoyed. On Friday morning all the boys woke up to play golf and the girls off to lunch and splitting up for beach time and shopping.

Upon the boys return from the golf course, they met us out on the beach. Much to my surprise, when Chase returned with them, he was missing an important item, his wedding band. {Before any conclusions are made, I must brag on this boy....he NEVER takes it off with the exception of two events. Xbox in the basement and golfing...and trust me, if you saw the yucky callus/cut that thing gives him, you'd be happy to let him play sans ring!} Somewhere between the time he put his ring in his safe-keeping pocket of his golf bag, the ring fell out. He played it off rather well, because he had his suspicions on two very suspicious and fun-loving friends that might have taken it as a joke. Needless to say, it has not made it's way back to his finger.

We have since then bought him a "temp" ring and at an Everyday Low Price and crossing our fingers and saying prayers for the original's return. While I'm sad that his ring is MIA, I must say that sweet Chase has handled this with grace. He was pretty upset that his ring was gone. On Saturday night he insisted that I make him an aluminum foil ring so he wouldn't feel so "naked". How joyful and happy is my heart that my husband is so proud to display his promise to me all the time. Although we have talked about it just a piece of metal, it is a proud display and comfort to possess when we can't be with each other. Does it get any better than that?
