A little Friday morning math problem...

I have been on a high this week with the excitement of going home to Kentucky for the weekend. A line up of visiting my bestie, a basketball game at my alma mater's Diddle Arena and a heavy helping of country ham and biscuits from Mammoth Cave Hotel. Not so fast! Take a look at the local station's weather forecast.

Now, let's do a little math problem:

It is exactly 302 miles from Alice's house in Birmingham to her house in Horse Cave. The snow and ice precipitation is to begin somewhere along the Alabama-Tennessee state line. We'll use Athens for our precipitation commencement. From Birmingham to Athens, it is 106 miles. Using the illustration below and the information provided, approximately how many miles will Alice drive in un-safe conditions.

302 Total miles from Point "A" to Point "B"
-106 Total miles from Point "A" to point of precipitation commencement

Grand total of 196 miles of travel in un-safe conditions. Now we know that this number may not be the exact total, so we'll round to the nearest tens place, making it approximately 200 miles of un-safe travel.

Logic: Alice is staying home in Birmingham this weekend for more studying, note cards and painting my front door red.

On a completely different note, congratulations to Abby and JR on the birth of their son Baker!
